Dr. Phil Iverson

For 30 years, Dr. Phil Iverson has been a trusted veterinarian, mentor, and leader at Highland Animal Hospital, caring for generations of pets and their families throughout the CSRA. Originally from the Midwest, he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine before making the life-changing decision to move to Augusta, Georgia—a place he has proudly called home ever since.

Known for his compassionate approach and unwavering dedication to his patients, Dr. Iverson believes veterinary medicine is more than a profession—it's a calling. Throughout his career, he has not only helped countless animals live healthier lives but has also mentored veterinary students, technicians, and fellow doctors, helping shape the future of the profession.

Outside the hospital, Dr. Iverson enjoys spending time with his family. He is a proud husband and father to two daughters, Julia and Grace, and treasures the support they have given him throughout his career.

When he's not caring for pets, you'll likely find him on the golf course, cheering on his favorite teams, or giving back to the community through Camp Hope, where he has spent many summers serving as Game Director and creating lifelong memories for campers and volunteers.

A proud graduate of Iowa State University and an enthusiastic supporter of the Georgia Bulldogs, Dr. Iverson has embraced life in the South while never forgetting his Midwest roots.

After three decades of healing, teaching, and serving, Dr. Iverson's greatest legacy isn't measured only by the thousands of pets he's cared for—it's found in the lives he's touched, the veterinary professionals he's inspired, and the lasting impact he has made on Highland Animal Hospital and the entire CSRA community.
